Foote, Cone & Belding Worldwide (FCB) has been appointed Compaq's
new global advertising agency, including Asia-Pacific.
Compaq said that it chose FCB because it had the strategic understanding
and creative firepower to develop effective advertising campaigns across
borders and channels.
It added that it was also looking for an agency at the cutting edge of
the Internet revolution.
Compaq was previously held by a number of agency networks worldwide, and
DDB in Asia-Pacific.
FCB Asia-Pacific took part in pitches in Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore and
Sydney before the main pitch for the worldwide business took place in
Texas last month.
