Collis to replace Jackson as ECD at Ogilvy Japan

SYDNEY - Mark Collis (pictured) is leaving Leo Burnett Sydney to take up a new role as executive creative director at Ogilvy & Mather Japan.

His appointment follows the recent departure of fellow Australian Marcus Jackson, who has moved to Hong Kong to start a regional role within Ogilvy’s Asia-Pacific network.

During his three years at Leo Burnett Sydney, Collis drove the creation of the agency’s Earth Hour initiative for WWF, which won one of four Titanium awards at Cannes last year.

Todd Sampson, Leo Burnett Sydney’s chief executive, commented that Collis was moving out of a desire to experience the challenge of living in Japan.

Collis will begin his new role in Tokyo in March and will report to John Goodman, president of Ogilvy & Mather Japan, and Tham Kai Meng, co-chairman of Ogilvy Asia-Pacific.
