Coke China hands mobile brief to 21 Comms

SHANGHAI - Coca-Cola China has awarded its mobile communications brief to 21 Communications, after a competitive pitch involving several unnamed agencies.

21 Comms has been tasked with handling Coke’s mobile strategy, including overseeing the brand’s business with mobile operators, application and content providers, as the soft drinks giant gears up for the 2008 Olympics.

The move follows Coke’s decision to establish Red Lounge in November of last year, a 40-person unit made up of reps from several agencies, including Leo Burnett, McCann Erickson, Starcom, Wwwins and Heartland, although it’s not clear if 21 Comms will join the unit.
