CNN, BBC prove popularity in IATS survey
<p>CNN International reaches 37 per cent of international air </p><p>travellers on a weekly basis, according to the IATS Asia 7 survey, </p><p>conducted by European Data & Research, between March and April this year </p><p>in 10 major Asian airports. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Meanwhile, the BBC has increased its viewership among international air </p><p>travellers, with 11.4 per cent of those surveyed having viewed BBC World </p><p>the previous day. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>News channels remain the first choice among air travellers in daily </p><p>reach, including: CNNI (25.4 per cent), BBC World (12.5 per cent), </p><p>Discovery (12.2 per cent), Star Sports (10.2 per cent), CNBC (8.9 per </p><p>cent) and ESPN (7.8 per cent). Also, CNNI reached 50 per cent of all </p><p>senior business executives in the IATS survey. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"These strong results endorse our investment in regionalisation, which </p><p>has meant a significant amount of extra spending to increase the </p><p>localised content available to our viewers," said CNNI managing editor </p><p>Bill Baggitt. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"The international air travellers community is a key target audience for </p><p>BBC World and the survey results reaffirm the channel's popularity </p><p>amongst this sector," said BBC World managing director Patrick Cross. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
