The MBN-CNBC channel will carry predominantly Korean business and news programming of Maeil, with the remainder coming from CNBC's international business and financial programming, including Squawk Box.
The channel will feature a live, customised ticker from the Korean Stock Exchange, and is expected to reach more than 4.5 million households. The channel is part of CNBC's strategy of providing locally-relevant programming across Asia, and the Korean launch represents its third joint-venture deal after India and Japan.CNBC will continue to distribute its English-language cable channel to 2.2 million households. "Our audience is looking for the most up-to-date and continuous coverage of the Korean and international markets, said Maeil business news group president and publisher Dae-whan Chang.
