After seven years at NTUC, Alvin Neo has stepped away from his role as chief customer & marketing officer of FairPrice Group.
Neo joined NTUC Enterprise in 2019, holding dual roles as chief customer and marketing officer for both NTUC Enterprise and FairPrice Group, while also serving as managing director of NTUC Link. His remit spanned customer strategy, marketing, loyalty, data and digital engagement across the cooperative's retail ecosystem.
Neo is a key architect of FairPrice's retail transformation agenda. Under his watch, the group piloted its 'Store of Tomorrow' concept to test smart shopping carts, enhanced CRM capabilities, and smooth e-commerce integration as it sought to bridge physical and digital retail experiences.
Neo also pushed the retailer beyond traditional supermarket formats. The revamped FairPrice Finest outlet at Clarke Quay introduced a more experiential proposition, including food-and-beverage offerings, live demonstrations, and curated events to increase dwell time and elevate brand appeal.
Beyond FairPrice, Neo oversaw NTUC Link's loyalty business and worked towards strengthening customer engagement across the cooperative's ecosystem. He also led brand-building efforts, including a multi-channel campaign developed with BBH Singapore that sought to reinforce FairPrice's role in shoppers' everyday lives.
Recognised in Campaign Asia-Pacific's 50 Over Fifty list and its Asia-Pacific Power List in both 2025 and 2026, Neo regularly participated at Campaign's events, including a recent panel discussion on leadership, state of AI, and the changing role of CMO at Campaign 360 in May. He leaves FairPrice more digitally integrated, data-driven and customer-centric than when he took the helm.
FairPrice has not announced a successor.
Prior to NTUC Enterprise in 2019, Neo spent nearly three decades in consumer goods, healthcare and consulting in senior leadership roles at Parkway Pantai and Johnson & Johnson Medical, and earlier stints at Procter & Gamble and BCG.
