Clinch returns in advisory role for travel publisher

Media veteran Martin Clinch has returned to the Hong Kong industry after retiring in 1997, taking an advisory role with travel publisher the Ossima Group.

Clinch has been hired on a part-time basis with his wife Cecilia to help locate foreign strategic partners for Ossima. The group publishes two lifestyle titles, Zoom Travel and A La Carte Travel, as well as guidebooks. Ossima CEO KC Chan said the pair would also help the group develop its portfolio of products aimed at Chinese travellers abroad and international travellers in China. "We are looking at the full potential of current products for the coming six months," he said. Clinch, who arrived in Hong Kong in 1966, first set up an ad sales company, which handled advertising for Cathay Pacfic's inflight Discovery magazine and the Hong Kong Tourist Association's guide book. He later branched out into publishing, launching Recruit magazine in the 1990s, before selling to Publicitas.
