Cisco seeks digital, BTL creative agency

ASIA-PACIFIC - Cisco Systems has begun a search for a lead agency to handle its regional creative requirements, as the networking giant attempts to shift its focus to the SME segment of the B2B market.

Four agencies are believed to have taken part in the review, including DDB, OgilvyOne and Tequila.

In recent years, Cisco has worked with a slew of agencies, including OgilvyOne and Band.

The review follows the arrival of Sharon Ee to oversee regional marketing at Cisco. Ee was previously head of South Asia at Palm. It is believed that the review will focus on below-the-line and digital media, given Cisco’s customer profile.

“Cisco has to get to grips with is the SME market,” said a source involved in the review. “This is a transitional change that every large IT company has to go through. It has implications for Cisco’s  strategy from the total brand, though to the channels used.”
