Cigna Thailand chooses OMD and McCann for integrated brief

BANGKOK - Cigna, the Philadelphia-based life assurance group, has awarded its US$2.5 million Thai advertising duties to OMD and McCann WorldGroup.

The two agencies won the business ahead of shops including Ogilvy and a number of local contenders. The company wants to move beyond its relationship-based advertising and into direct sales, so communications will focus on digital and direct marketing.

Cigna, which is the oldest stock insurance company in the US, entered the Thai market earlier this year.
