Saatchis dominated the 2002 event by winning three trophies and securing seven highly-commended awards across four separate clients. The awards are hailed as the leading indicator of excellence in television advertising in Australia and New Zealand.
Saatchis ad for the Pedestrian Council of Australia featuring Chopper, which won Australian Commercial of the Year, was described by the judges as an "incredibly powerful piece of communication. Saatchis also won the Best of Show and Agency of the Year prizes. Saatchis New Zealand also took gold, winning NZ Commercial of the Year for its Adidas' 'The Selectors' piece. "It's been a tough year for everyone and I think these results demonstrate the strength and diversity of our creative team - it is truly world class, Saatchi executive creative director Malcolm Poynton said.
