Chong set to depart Diamond Ogilvy

SEOUL - Diamond Ogilvy Group vice president and chief talent officer SS Chong (pictured) is set to leave the agency at the end of March, when he will take up an academic role as a lecturer on commercial production at Cheongju University.

A replacement for Chong has yet to be decided upon. Diamond Ogilvy president Jay Paik is expected to assume Chong’s duties in the interim while a successor is found.

Having begun his advertising career at Oricom in 1987, Chong set up Ogilvy & Mather in Korea with Paik eleven years ago. Chong’s current role followed ten years as the agency’s executive creative director.

Diamond Ad, formerly Hyundai’s in-house advertising agency, merged with Ogilvy & Mather to form Diamond Ogilvy Group in 2006. The group comprises Diamond Ogilvy, Ogilvy & Mather Advertising, OgilvyOne, Ogilvy PR and Ogilvy Healthworld.
