Chinatrust hires Euro for bigger Philippine push

MANILA: Chinatrust Bank has awarded Euro RSCG Philippines its US$500,000 account to handle corporate and product advertising.

The bank had invited several agencies, including Basic Advertising and Great Wall Advertising, to present their credentials early this year.

Euro's appointment comes as the bank takes steps to become a major player in the Philippines, according to Euro RSCG division manager Agnes Dioso.

"People see it as a small Taiwanese bank. It wants to be projected as a multinational institution with big resources, which it is, shesaid.

There was no incumbent agency. ChinaTrust used local shopss and design studios on a project basis. Euro executive creative director, Norman Agatep, said Chinatrust had launched a number of pioneering products this year, including its 'five years, zero' interest home loan, which generated strong response.
