China Telecom enlists Upstream for S'pore expansion

SINGAPORE - China Telecom has hired Upstream Asia to handle PR as the company launches its Singapore presence.

China Telecom’s Singapore operation aims to serve Chinese enterprises in the island state with communication services, and also strengthen cooperation with the city’s carriers. The launch is the latest phase in China Telecom’s international expansion, following the establishment of companies in Hong Kong, the US, Europe and Central Asia.

“They need to look at how to take lessons learned from China into a much more competitive marketplace,” said Upstream CEO David Ketchum of the challenges facing China Telecom.
