It has been suggested that Henderson, who moved to Shanghai last year, may leave mainland China to take up a regional client servicing position or an operational role within the network. Henderson declined comment on the possibility of a move.
Universal is thought to be looking at Greater China as a new base for its regional headquarters, following the announcement that current Sydney-based regional head Allan Medforth will be stepping down at the end of the month after eight years in the post and 22 years with the agency.
Universal's global president and CEO Nick Brien, who joined the company last year, said in a statement that Asia-Pacific regional management should be close to major developing markets.
