China Cup targets Fortune 500 sponsors

HONG KONG - The China Cup International Regatta (CCIR) has announced the sponsorship packages available for the second annual race to be held out of Shenzhen.

“We are looking to attract Fortune 500 companies as sponsors for the 2008 event,” said Keith Crane, head of international media at CCIR. Businesses can sign up to be global strategic partner, senior sponsors, event sponsors or official suppliers for the regatta, which is to take place between the 24 and 27 October, 2008.

The level of exposure and hospitality benefits varies depending in the sponsorship package chosen. Global strategic sponsors, such as yacht builders Beneteau, have the full gamut of sponsorship perks, including extensive branding rights on the hulls and sails of the boats, branded clothing, access to media as well as extensive hospitality opportunities.

Senior sponsors have no branding rights on the actual boats, but maintain widespread advertising rights outdoors, in print and have access to the racing yachts for clients and employees.
