SINGAPORE The island state of Singapore is investing US$88.2m to overhaul Terminal 1 of Changi Airport in the wake of the refurbishment of Terminal 2 and the planned opening of Terminal 3 in 2008. With Terminal 2 slated for a 2005 re-opening, with 2,000 square metres of extra dining and retail space beefing-up the existing 28,000 sq m, the renovation works will focus on both the arrival and departure halls at Changi's Terminal 1. The renewal comes as rival Bangkok gets ready to open Suvarnabhumi Airport in 2005, with a targeted 45-million passenger capacity.
