Chan rejoins DDB in Hong Kong

HONG KONG - Paul Chan (pictured) has joined DDB as creative director of its Hong Kong office after a two-year stint at Grey.

Having moved to Hong Kong from the UK almost nine years ago, Chan began his advertising career at DDB as a copywriter, subsequently transferring to Saatchi & Saatchi and Grey.

Reporting to DDB’s chief creative officer Ruth Lee, Chan will work as the agency’s copy-based creative director alongside his art-based counterpart O’Poon. He was unable to disclose at this stage the accounts he would be working on.

Chan commented that having had a great time at Grey, the move had required careful consideration.

I had to tear myself away. It’s always a risk leaving the comfort zone but sometimes you just have to make the jump.

He added that he had been attracted to DDB by Lee’s ambitious nature and the potential to turn the office into one of the great agencies in Hong Kong
