Chan and Soh promoted to run restructured MEC Singapore

SINGAPORE - MEC has restructured its Singapore office following the departure of managing director Lim Yew Nee, appointing head of global solutions Connie Chan as MD for the entire Singapore operation.

Chan's expanded role will cover the agency's local, international and integrated services offering. She will be supported by Sharon Soh, who shifts from general manager to strategy director of the combined operation.
The MD role was left vacant earlier this month, when Lim left join former MTV colleague Toby Hayward in the sales department of CNBC Asia.
“When MEC was smaller, it was easy for APAC management to maintain an overview of the total operation in Singapore,” said Joost Dop, CEO of MEC Asia-Pacific. “Given our considerable growth in recent years, we see a need for greater integration if we are to ensure that clients benefit from the cross-fertilisation of ideas, research and resources."
"Connie and Sharon have each been with MEC for over ten years, and we believe that they are more than a safe pair of hands and that they will ensure that MEC Singapore continues to be one of our most creative and successful offices in Asia. Being based here, I will take personal responsibility for the progress of the new management team,” he added.
Chan and Soh's promotions also means a move upwards for Michelle Wong, who becomes general manager. She will run day-to-day operations of the agency's locally based clients and teams, and will be supported by group account directors Jennifer Loke and Constance Lim.
Meanwhile Guillaume Conteville joins from MEC London as a regional director, managing MEC's international clients. Also within the Global Solutions team, Ang Wan Gyn and Joan Han have been promoted to group account director level.
