CCA results leaked before show

SINGAPORE: The winners of this year's Creative Circle Awards (CCA),

with Ogilvy & Mather in top slot, came as no surprise to the large

number of attendees after the event organiser accidentally emailed the

list to agencies two weeks ago.

The mistake was exacerbated when the results were posted on a community

website Redice.com for all to see.

The fiasco aside, O&M took the best of show prize for its work on

Guinness' "What's on your mind" campaign.

This plus the agency's work on the Churches of Love's "God" campaign and

some ads for entertainment portal Do Asia propelled it to the top of the

league with three gold, six silver and 24 bronze.

Saatchi & Saatchi, which topped the awards tally last year, came second

followed by Leo Burnett. Saatchi won three gold, seven silver and nine

bronze for its entries, including lobby organisation Smoke Free

Singapore, pub Brewerkz and real estate firm Prulink Realty. The few

entries that Saatchi submitted generally won an award, commented Chris

Kyme, FCB regional creative director, who was on the judging panel.

Work for unit trust Prudential Unit, frame making company Merlin and

charity Ocean Environment helped Burnett win one gold, three silver and

18 bronze prizes. Other winners included J. Walter Thompson (one gold),

Euro RSCG (two silver awards), Batey Ads (one silver and 11 bronze), BBH

(one silver and six bronze), OgilvyOne (one silver and five bronze) and

Crush (one silver and five bronze).

The night in pictures - p32.
