The Auckland-based Catmur (pictured), who had been in the role for about two years, is believed to have made the announcement to his colleagues in a staff email.
It's understood Catmur commented that DDB was heading in the right direction in the email, although he added Asia needed a push to get going. He also thanked staff for their camaraderie and commitment.
