Cathay ends 10-year Emphasis relationship

HONG KONG - Australian Consolidated Press (ACP) has scooped Cathay Pacific's mammoth inflight publishing portfolio, which has been held by Emphasis Media for the last decade, after a pitch involving the incumbent and Ink Publishing.

The decision will see ACP, which currently publishes Qantas’s inflight magazine The Australian Way, take over content, advertising and printing for Cathay’s flagship Discovery title, along with the Entertainment Guide, duty free magazine The Shop, Marco Polo title The Club and Cargo Clan, the airline’s cargo publication.

ACP will also handle the recently-acquired Dragonair titles Silkroad and Sky Mall. One source involved in the review said: “It was an extremely long pitch and it was very involved. Cathay Pacific has the highest standards.”
