Cathay, Dragonair merge CRM teams

The CRM teams of Hong Kong flagship carrier Cathay Pacific and Dragonair have joined forces after the merger of the two airlines was completed last week.

A Cathay Pacific Group spokesperson stated: "Our customers have given us feedback that loyalty programmes are a key part of why they choose an airline and that they expect the two airlines to work together in this area."

McCann Erickson, which handles Cathay Pacific's CRM, created a centralised CRM unit earlier this year, integrating the airline's digital and below-the-line relationship management operation.

McCann also holds Cathay Pacific's advertising account, a relationship it has held for 13 years. Leo Burnett handles creative for Dragonair, an account it won last year.

The airline's marketing team did not return calls about a possible consolidation of the group's creative into a single agency.
