The review, which had moved past the credentials stage at Media's press-time, is reportedly being contested by six agencies: Ogilvy & Mather, DDB, Y&R, Euro RSCG, Wieden & Kennedy and DMG. Incumbent agencies Fallon and BBH, which previously worked on a project basis, are not believed to be competing for the business.

A crucial part of the brief is expected to include the launch of several new variants next year. "Carlsberg is looking for a long-term partner,"said Greg Paull, principal, R3, the marketing consultancy managing the pitch.

Zenith will continue to handle media planning and buying. A shortlist is expected to be finalised this month, with a decision made by year-end.
