Carlsberg hands Hong Kong media account to OMD

HONG KONG - Carlsberg Hong Kong has handed its media account to OMD without a pitch.

The beer giant has tasked OMD with developing media strategy and creativity for its full line of products, including its draft and bottled brands. The decision is a blow for incumbent ZenithOptimedia.

Jackson Kwok, managing director, OMD Hong Kong, said: “OMD handles the Carlsberg account in Europe, so we approached the client in Hong Kong. We were given a test on strategy and creativity, and they were impressed.”

The account will change hands in August.
