Carl Zeiss appoints Proximity for BTL

ASIA-PACIFIC - Proximity has picked up a regional below-the-line assignment for German optical systems maker Carl Zeiss following a pitch against an undisclosed number of agencies.

Managed from Singapore, the Omnicom agency will oversee strategy for six key markets in Asia-Pacific. Individual market execution will be determined by Carl Zeiss’ local marketers following a period testing concepts devised by Proximity.

The brief is to launch a new product range designed specifically for the region. Targeted at a trade audience, campaigns will use point-of-sale, collaterals, retail programmes and a new logo.

Other media and creative agency arrangements are not affected by the appointment.

Carl Zeiss Group reported a sales revenue increase of seven per cent at the end of 2007, with most growth coming from Asia.
