CAREERS: Saatchis Manila picks veteran creative directors

MANILA: Ace Saatchi & Saatchi has appointed veterans Dino Ocampo and Cirio Cinco as the agency's new creative directors.

Ocampo, who was creative director at BBDO Manila for four years, has taken over accounts handled by Merlee Jayme ahead of her promotion to the position of executive creative director.

These accounts include Head & Shoulders, Ariel and Pampers for P&G; Bisolvon for Boeringer-Ingelheim; the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company, the country's largest telecommunications firm; the Enchanted Kingdom theme park; and casual clothing store franchise, Penshoppe.

Ocampo's work recently won five gold awards, four silvers, and 20 bronzes at the Philippine Advertising Congress. His work has also been noted at Cannes, the One Show, LIAA, the New York Festivals, the media Awards, and the Asia-Pacific Advertising Fest, where he was on the judging panel this year.

Cinco, meanwhile, was creative director for five years at Image Dimensions, an affiliate of Dentsu, handling banking brand leader Bank of the Philippine Islands and Eight O'Clock powdered juice drink.

In the early 1990s, he worked at DY&R Alcantara as a copywriter for Colgate toothpaste, prior to becoming the creative director for Palmolive Shampoo and Soap.

At Ace Saatchi, he takes over from Marci Reyes, who recently left for McCann-Erickson. Cinco will handle Smart Communications, the country's leading cellular telephone network.
