Name Tina Wee

Age 31

Job title Deputy director, marketing communications/services, Forbes

What is your greatest work achievement?

The hugely-successful Forbes Global Asia print launch in October last

year. It was a complex and high-profile project, which I found

challenging as I had to deliver almost immediately after I joined

Forbes.

What would be your dream brand to work on and why?

If I was not working on my dream brand Forbes, it would be a luxury

fashion goods brand.

What would you do if you weren't in marketing?

I would probably be involved in event management.

What was your big break?

Becoming a mother. It has honed my coaching skills, patience and made me

used to getting by with less sleep.

Who was your mentor and how did this person influence you?

I would say there are two mentors in my life. My former boss, Alain

Begun, gave me insights into creativity in marketing, and my current

boss, William Adamopoulos, whose ability to see the big picture on all

occasions, and yet not miss important details, is a quality I

admire.

Is there a secret to your success?

Lots of hard work, having fun while doing it and a little bit of

luck.

How do you handle difficult clients?

I shut-up and listen to them.

What advice would you give to the next person to do your current

job?

Be ready to be constantly on the move.

What are you currently reading that will help you in your job?

I'm presently reading Jeffrey Archer's As The Crow Flies. It is a rags

to riches story that inspires perseverance, as well as life-long

learning.

Who is the business person you most admire and why?

I would have to say that it's Bill Gates.

A word of advice though: be nice to geeks - you'll never know when you

may end up working for one.
