What would be your dream brand to work on and why?
I love to travel and stay in nice places. So working on a luxury hotel brand seems pretty appealing.
What would you do if you weren't in marketing?
I'd do full-time what I already do part-time - produce and host a radio programme. I've been on air in Singapore for nearly seven years.
What was your big break?
I've been with Y&R Brands for 14 years; my 'big break' was when Eric Fredericks, then MD of Greater China, offered me a job 10 minutes into the interview. I haven't looked back since.
Who was your mentor and how did this person influence you?
I've worked with superb people and have learned from each of them.
Is there a secret to your success?
Yes. I cut out the 'BS' and just get the job done. And I expect the same from those with whom I work.
How do you handle difficult clients?
I try to stick to the advice my father once gave me: 'Keep your eyes and ears open and keep your mouth shut'.
What advice would you give to the next person to do your current job?
Always have valued-added ideas to help your clients' businesses grow.
Pay attention to detail. Listen. Don't be afraid to tell someone something they don't want to hear. And never give up.
What are you currently reading that will help you in your job?
I'm finishing Economics of Innocent Fraud by John Kenneth Galbraith.
Who is the business person you most admire and why?
My grandfathers, who arrived in the US with only the shirts on their backs. It's difficult to find people with their character today.
