CAREERS MEDIA: Time Inc promotes Butcher, Brack
<p>Mr Andrew Butcher, formerly publisher of Fortune Asia and Time
</p><p>Asia, and Mr Peter Brack, formerly publisher and managing director of
</p><p>Asiaweek, have been named president of their respective
</p><p>publications.

</p><p>In addition to these titles, Mr Butcher and Mr Brack also assume the
</p><p>titles of vice-president, Time Inc International.
</p><p><BR><BR>
</p><p>Mr Butcher has been with Fortune since 1994, and in 1998, took on the
</p><p>additional responsibility of publisher of Time Asia. He was previously
</p><p>regional director of Reed-Elsevier and worked in Hong Kong as ad
</p><p>director for the International Herald Tribune.

</p><p>In his new role, he will have overall bottom-line responsibility for the
</p><p>Asian editions of both publications.
</p><p><BR><BR>
</p><p>Meanwhile, Mr Brack joined Asiaweek in 1999 as publisher and managing
</p><p>director. Prior to this, he was vice-president of advertising sales for
</p><p>Turner Broadcasting System Inc, where he managed regional advertising
</p><p>sales activity for Turner's international networks, including CNN
</p><p>International and TNT & Cartoon Network.

</p><p>Also at Asiaweek, Mr Rik Gates has been promoted to associate
</p><p>publisher.
</p><p><BR><BR>
</p><p>Formerly the regional advertising director, he will relocate from
</p><p>Singapore to Hong Kong, and will be responsible for all of the title's
</p><p>ad sales.
</p><p><BR><BR>
</p><p>Ms Jocelyn Domingo, vice-president of advertising, will relocate to
</p><p>Singapore from New York, where she has been for the last 12 months.
</p><p><BR><BR>
</p><p>In her new role, she will manage Southeast Asia advertising sales for
</p><p>Asiaweek, while adsales in the US will fall under the responsibility of
</p><p>a newly-created Time Inc International sales team.
</p><p><BR><BR>
</p><p>Also, Mr Andrew Coffey has joined Asiaweek as circulation director,
</p><p>while Ms Debra Garverich has been appointed finance director; she moved
</p><p>to Asia last year as special projects director at Time Warner.

</p><p>Mr Coffey is now based in Hong Kong, and was previously in Sydney as
</p><p>circulation marketing manager for Australian Geographic magazine.

</p><p>Over at Time Asia, Ms Ivy Choi, formerly vice-president of advertising
</p><p>sales, has been promoted to associate publisher of Time Asia.
</p><p><BR><BR>
</p><p>Ms Choi, who has more than nine years' experience with the group, will
</p><p>be responsible for all Time Asia advertising sales operations, and will
</p><p>continue to be based in Hong Kong.

</p><p>Ms Regina Ng, previously VP of consumer marketing for Time Inc Asia, has
</p><p>been named VP of circulation for Time and Fortune, while Mr Francis Lee
</p><p>is now finance director for the two titles.
