CAREERS MEDIA: Award-winning CDs Chiu, Hart move over to Dentsu Hong Kong
<p>A string of new appointments at Dentsu Hong Kong has seen associate </p><p>creative director Simon Leung, who has been in place for some time, </p><p>joined by creative directors Tony Chiu and Michael Hart. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Dentsu executive creative director David Chow said the depth and </p><p>experience of his new creative hitters was impressive. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"It's the year 2000 and all the old rules are off," he said. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"What we've got to do is reformulate the creative mix to excel at the </p><p>new challenges that advertising faces in the new century. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"We're putting all our time and resources into providing creative </p><p>solutions and innovations for our clients. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"In our business, especially now, our assets are our people. Systems and </p><p>technology are, after all, only as good as the ideas of the people who </p><p>use them." </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Mr Hart, part of the Kam Fan-winning team at Batey, had been CD at DDB </p><p>for the last three years, working on accounts such as the South China </p><p>Morning Post, Airport Express, McDonald's and Park N'Shop. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>His last TV outing for DDB was the "Road Runner" commercial for </p><p>Octopus. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Mr Chiu, meanwhile, has won top awards at the Clios and the HK4As. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>He has been a major player on the Hong Kong and Shanghai scenes for some </p><p>time now, having done stints at Hong Kong's DDB and DYR, as well as BBDO </p><p>Shanghai, among others. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>For the last few years he has been busy setting up and running his own </p><p>shop in Shanghai. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Mr Leung spent five years at McCann on such major accounts as Hang Seng </p><p>Bank, Nescafe, GE Capital and J&J. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
