A string of new appointments at Dentsu Hong Kong has seen associate

creative director Simon Leung, who has been in place for some time,

joined by creative directors Tony Chiu and Michael Hart.

Dentsu executive creative director David Chow said the depth and

experience of his new creative hitters was impressive.

"It's the year 2000 and all the old rules are off," he said.

"What we've got to do is reformulate the creative mix to excel at the

new challenges that advertising faces in the new century.

"We're putting all our time and resources into providing creative

solutions and innovations for our clients.

"In our business, especially now, our assets are our people. Systems and

technology are, after all, only as good as the ideas of the people who

use them."

Mr Hart, part of the Kam Fan-winning team at Batey, had been CD at DDB

for the last three years, working on accounts such as the South China

Morning Post, Airport Express, McDonald's and Park N'Shop.

His last TV outing for DDB was the "Road Runner" commercial for

Octopus.

Mr Chiu, meanwhile, has won top awards at the Clios and the HK4As.

He has been a major player on the Hong Kong and Shanghai scenes for some

time now, having done stints at Hong Kong's DDB and DYR, as well as BBDO

Shanghai, among others.

For the last few years he has been busy setting up and running his own

shop in Shanghai.

Mr Leung spent five years at McCann on such major accounts as Hang Seng

Bank, Nescafe, GE Capital and J&J.
