CAREERS: Initiative bolsters team to win Unilever Asia work

Initiative Media has promoted Roger Camplisson to the newly-created post of managing director at its Sydney office, and Chris Wright to the role of international client services director in Singapore.

The appointments are part of the media agency's efforts to bolster its management line-up, with the aim to attract more Unilever business in the Asia-Pacific region.

King Lai, Initiative Media's chief operating officer for Asia-Pacific, said the media agency holds the Unilever agency of record assignment in Japan, where the account is split, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia.

"We already handle media planning and buying (for Unilever) in certain markets in the region, but these appointments will hopefully bring in more business, not just from Singapore and Sydney, but also Greater China and the rest of Asia.

"The appointment in Sydney is new and we felt the need for this role because of our plans to generate more business,

said Lai.

Camplisson, previously international client services director at Initiative Media in Singapore, led a pan-regional team while he handled Unilever in Southeast Asia for more than two years.

Prior to that, he was at the agency's London office, where he was responsible for the majority of client broadbase deals and buying management, later taking on a group planning role with the agency's largest global client, Unilever.

In his new position, Camplisson will report to Alan Robertson, chairman and CEO in Sydney.

Wright will join the agency's Singapore office from London, where he was media director on TV, and will take over the Unilever business in Asia.
