CAREERS: Grey lures Dransfield back into healthcare

Grey Healthcare Group has opened an office in Singapore, seeing opportunities ahead as the city attempts to push itself at the forefront of the pharmaceutical industry.

Australian Lisa Dransfield, who joined as group account director, is the main representative in Singapore.

As the Singapore office is small - with Eli Lilly as its main client - Dransfield will rely on GHG's Kuala Lumpur office for creative and strategy planning and support.

GHG's move into Singapore comes just months after the network established offices in Taiwan and South Korea headed by Davy You and Alex Chung respectively.

It also expanded the remit of Mala Dixit, GHG Australia managing director, to Asia-Pacific practice leader.

Dixit said GHG was looking to expand further in the region, with offices in key markets as multinational drug companies wanted agencies to help deliver a consistent global marketing strategy.

Despite its size, Singapore is considered a key market as a number of drug companies have regional headquarters there and the Government has introduced incentives to attract further investment from the sector.

GHG's client Eli Lilly, for example, recently announced it would establish a research and development centre in return for financial assistance from Singapore's Economic Development Board (EDB).

Dransfield's appointment marks her return to the healthcare marketing industry after a seven-year absence. Prior to her appointment, she was the marketing director of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and before that head of marketing at the Victorian Arts Centre in Melbourne.

Earlier in her career, Dransfield spent 10 years in account service, working on healthcare accounts at Melbourne ad agencies such as DDB, Us Advertising and Finesse Advertising.
