CAREERS: Brahman joins Burnett Singapore as Chiang quits

Cheuk Chiang, regional account director - Asia Pacific Breweries account for Leo Burnett Singapore - has resigned to return to his native hometown of Melbourne, Australia after two years in the city.

Dean Brahman, who was previously based at Burnett Toronto, where he was vice-president, account director on Procter & Gamble brands Gain and Cheer, will replace Chiang.

Said Chiang, who was Media's 2002 'Suit of the Year': "As much as I am sad to be leaving, I know the account is in excellent hands. Dean's passion for creativity, strong strategic skills and previous account experience with Tiger Beer in Vietnam makes him perfect for the role."

Before moving to Toronto, Brahman was managing director of Burnett Vietnam, a position he held for three-and-a-half years. Commenting on his return to Asia, he said: "The move back to Asia is a unique chance for me to continue working with great clients across many diverse markets."

He added: "My aim in the new role is to continue the task of building Tiger Beer across the region as a true Asian power brand. The next two to three years will be very exciting as the brand stretches and seeks to make even greater connections with beer drinkers across Asia."

According to Richard Pinder, regional managing director at Burnett, Chiang and Brahman have been working side by side for awhile now to ensure a smooth handover on the regional APB business.

Braham began his career in Sydney working for other networks for four years before joining Burnett in Australia.

His account experience includes Asia Pacific Breweries, United Distillers & Vintners, P&G, Foremost, Nestle and Coca-Cola.
