Carat wins Ayamas media in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR - Ayamas, part of the KFC Holdings group, has handed its RM5 million (US$1.5 million) media account to Carat, after a multi-agency pitch involving incumbent Mediavest, MediaCompete and OMD.

The Aegis media agency is expected to boost the efficiency of the poultry brand's media planning and buying.

"We made a difference by showing the relevance of media to Ayamas's business. It wasn't just about rates," said Roy Tan (pictured), Carat Malaysia's managing director.

"We showed that we truly understood Ayamas consumers, having researched them through our consumer connection study."

Ayamas recently shifted its creative business to Lowe Malaysia, after a pitch against Ogilvy & Mather, Grey and Publicis.
