Carat Malaysia scoops Tune Talk

KUALA LUMPUR - Tune Talk, a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) owned by Tony Fernandes' Tune Ventures, has selected Carat Interactive, over Proximity and Rapp Collins, to develop its online services on a project basis.

Headed by chief executive, Jason Lo, a local musician and producer, the start-up service had signed up with mobile operator, Celcom, in December 2007, to buy network capacity and is in the midst of getting a license to offer pre-paid mobile and SMS services.

The mobile operator is expected to revolutionize the telco industry when launched later this year, in the same way Fernandes’ AirAsia shook up the airline business with its budget offerings.
