Carat launches media engagement division in Australia

SYDNEY - Carat has announced plans to launch a media engagement division in Australia.

Carat Engage is described as an evolution of the agency’s Activate facility that specialises in consumer promotions, public relations, product sampling, sponsorship and media events.

The division will reportedly be led by Tim Flattery, formerly director of content for the Mitchell Communication Group. Flattery’s most recent project was that of strategist on the movie Australia, a $40 million collaboration between Tourism Australia, 20th Century Fox and film director Baz Luhrmann.

In his new role, Flattery will be responsible for leading the development of branded content, as well as for online social media marketing and tracking. He will report to Carat Sydney’s managing director, Martin Cowie (pictured).
