Canon combines formats for Ixus

Canon has rolled out a multimedia campaign with a strong online element for the launch of its new Ixus Wireless digital camera.

The campaign, which includes print and TV, features a man floating in a zero gravity vault to communicate the camera's wireless connectivity qualities. The online part of the campaign, run on MSN and online new service Atnext.com, was handled by Pixel Media. It uses expandable banner ads which double their original size when a cursor is dragged over them, at which point the TVC is activated and starts to play. "Canon has combined the use of standard ad formats coupled with video broadcast capabilities into a single ad format that captures the audience's attention and is befitting of the innovativeness of its product," said Kevin Huang, CEO of Pixel Media, the exclusive sales agent for MSN and Atnext.com
