INCENTIVES
Suzhou is known for its Chinese ornamental gardens perfected during the Ming Dynasty.
The best way to experience the old town is to take to the canals that traverse the city in
a sightseeing boat.
WHERE TO STAY
Within the historical Old Town, the 407-room Sheraton Suzhou Hotel & Towers has a replica of a traditional garden complete with canals and bridges. The biggest of its ten meeting rooms can hold 400 people. Another option in the middle of the old city is the Suzhou Sofitel that offers 329 rooms and a grand ballroom that can hold 600 people.
The China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) and the Suzhou New and Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone (SND) flank the Old Town on its east and west, respectively.
Within SIP are a number of hotels including the newly opened Kempinski Hotel Suzhou on
the shores of Jinji Lake next to the 27-hole Jinji Lake International Golf Course. The 456-room
hotel has extensive meeting facilities with more than 2,000 sqm of meeting space.
The Crowne Plaza Suzhou, also on the banks of Jinji Lake, was renovated in 2005 and offers 58 rooms. Across town in SND, the 390-room Shangri-La Hotel Suzhou has the biggest ballroom in the city which can hold up to 1,600 guests.
