Richard Petignaud's journey to leadership began on the ground in Taiwan in the late 1990s. Arriving as a Chinese language student, he learned early that success in Asia requires deep cultural fluency, not just business acumen. A native French speaker fluent in Mandarin and English, he built his career bridging East and West, thriving in the ‘zero-to-one’ phase of business.

At JCDecux, Petignaud redefined airport advertising by pioneering the "luxury corridor" concept for Shanghai and Hong Kong airports, proving to global luxury brands that airport environments could rival glossy print media for prestige. The strategy drove record-breaking revenues and established a new global aesthetic standard since replicated worldwide.

At BrandLoyalty, he dramatically expanded the Greater China loyalty marketing business, launched Asia's first digital stamp solution, and co-created the world's first omnichannel loyalty programme.

When he took on establishing Bravo Media in 2021, Hong Kong's OOH market was facing its greatest challenges from the COVID pandemic. Rather than retreat, he built from scratch. In just four years, Bravo became Hong Kong's second-largest OOH operator, managing major assets including Citybus and the MTR East Rail and Tuen Ma Lines. The team grew from 26 to over 130, with annual sales growing significantly year on year. He secured the 10-year Citybus bus body advertising contract and began operating all Citybus bus shelters.

His leadership philosophy centres on building teams and businesses that can sustain and grow after their leaders have moved on.
