Lulu Raghavan
President, APAC
Landor
India
Lulu Raghavan's story seems written by a creative hand. It began with a seventh-grade essay that won national recognition, only to be set aside in pursuit of economics and applied mathematics. An MBA in international business followed. Life was logical. Structured. Sensible. But creativity has a way of resurfacing.
Raghavan began her career at Landor in San Francisco as a naming manager, rising through the ranks in New York and London before making a surprising decision in 2008: to return to India and establish Landor's operations from scratch. What began as a one-person office evolved into a thriving epicentre of talent and strategic brand thinking. In 2024, she was promoted to Asia Pacific president—the first Indian and first woman to hold the role.
The numbers speak for themselves. Under her leadership, one member grew to 250-plus employees, zero business in 2008 became a $6 million turnover in 2025, margins increased 22%, and retention sits at 89%. She steered the Landor & Fitch merger transition in India, scaling her team from 30 to 150-plus while retaining that remarkable rate. Landor earned Campaign Asia Agency of the Year for Brand Design four consecutive years from 2022 to 2025.
Raghavan's impact extends well beyond business. She was the first Indian woman juror at Cannes Lions for Design in 2018, co-authored five India-based business case studies, and hosted ‘Beyond Logo’ on BloombergTV. Her mentorship programmes—‘Springboard’ for students, the Future Leaders Team, and WPP Stella India — develop talent as deliberately as profits.
To Quote: “The grace with which she conducts herself inspires trust, and her responses to tough questions are always thoughtful and cogent. Across multiple initiatives, she consistently delivered impact.” -Asha Kharga, chief customer & brand officer at Mahindra Group.
