According to CA Asia-Pacific and Japan VP for corporate communications Raj Seth, the shift means that Hill & Knowlton now handles Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore, in addition to regional HQ duties out of Singapore and Hong Kong.
“That number is set to increase where possible,” he said. “It’s a rationalisation to enhance region- to-country processes, a measure of good housekeeping, tighten our messaging and go- to-market execution.”
The overall CA Asia-Pacific Japan account will be led by Hill & Knowlton regional account director Calvin Lee.
CA, formerly known as Computer Associates, reported strong financial results after a difficult period that saw an investigation into accounting irregularities, which ended earlier this year.
In addition, it has named former FedEx Express Japan head of corporate communications Mamoru Ninomiya as director of corporate communications for CA Japan, and has hired Samantha James from BBDO Singapore as a specialist in its regional communications team.
CA’s marketing communications business, including creative and media, remains aligned with IPG.
