Butcher moving up as president of Time, Fortune

LONDON: Andrew Butcher - an 11-year veteran of the Asian media industry before being promoted to a worldwide post at the beginning of this year - has been promoted again from executive vice-president to president and publisher of Time and Fortune's international editions.

He will continue to work from Time International's headquarters in London, overseeing the two magazines' operations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Latin America. In addition, Butcher will work closely with the management teams of Time and Fortune's American, Canadian and Australian editions to ensure the needs of clients are met on a global basis.

He will report directly to Time Inc International president and chief executive officer, Michael Pepe.

Prior to this year, Butcher was the publisher of Time and Fortune, based in Hong Kong, where he led a team that managed advertising, business development and strategy for the two titles.

He has also worked at Reed Elsevier as regional director and the International Herald Tribune as advertising director.
