Butcher heads to UK to take bigger role in Time titles
<p>HONG KONG: Andrew Butcher - the Asia-Pacific president of Time and </p><p>Fortune - has been promoted to the post of international publisher and </p><p>executive vice-president of the two publications. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The new role, based in London, takes effect immediately. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Butcher, who has been with the Time group since 1994, will be working </p><p>alongside chief financial officer Richard Evans and global marketing </p><p>officer Phil Whitney on international strategic issues. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>"One of the initial jobs will be to align the international sales team </p><p>into a global force. Fortune is about there, but Time is managed from </p><p>each region. But we must strike a balance; it'll be a global set-up with </p><p>local implementation," said Butcher. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>Meanwhile, Peter Brack, the president of the now-defunct Asiaweek </p><p>magazine, has been appointed senior vice-president of ad sales at Time </p><p>and Fortune Asia. </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
