Business event providers celebrated at Singapore Tourism Awards

The awards acknowledged big players across the business events and tourism industry.

The Singapore Tourism Board acknowledged several industry players at the Tourism Awards ceremony at Fairmont Singapore on May 8. Twenty-six individuals and organisations across the tourism and business event sectors were awarded at the ceremony.

IEEE Photonics Society Singapore Chapter took home the prize for Best Association Conference Organiser and Asian Geographic Magazines Pte Ltd won as Best Exhibition Organiser for the Asian Dive Expo in 2017.

The Singapore FinTech Festival was recognized in three categories that are Best Business Event Service Provider (Jublia Pte Ltd), Best Business Event Venue (Singapore EXPO and Max Atria), and Best Trade Conference Organiser (Monetary Authority of Singapore, The Association of Banks in Singapore and SingEx Exhibitions Pte Ltd).

In the Meetings & Incentives Organiser category, Destination Asia Singapore won for its efforts in the Philips Asia Pacific Customer Event 2017.

The big award of the night, Exceptional Achievement - Best Business Event Venue, went to Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre, an award that the venue has won consecutively in the last three years.

National Gallery Singapore’s huge reception to Yayoi Kusama’s Life is The Heart of the Rainbow exhibit last year was also recognized as Best Marketing Idea, beating out Universal Studio Singapore’s Halloween Horror Night 7.

Meanwhile, entrepreneur Chew Gim Bok was acknowledged in the Best Business Event Champion category for his winning bid to pull in the Rotary International Convention in 2024.
