Burnett wins TACT's top award for TAT 'Miss You' campaign
<p>Leo Burnett Thailand has scooped up 14 awards at the 24th Top
</p><p>Advertising Contest of Thailand awards (TACT).

</p><p>The company won five gold awards, including best production for the
</p><p>Tourism Authority of Thailand's (TAT) "Miss You" and best in category
</p><p>for the same TVC.
</p><p><BR><BR>
</p><p>It also won best in category for Flying Horse Fertiliser's "Rubber", and
</p><p>for two McDonald's commercials, "Wedding" and "One Week Only".
</p><p><BR><BR>
</p><p>Leo Burnett Thailand managing director Pornsiri Rojmeta said this year's
</p><p>event represented the coming of age for Thailand's advertising
</p><p>industry.
</p><p><BR><BR>
</p><p>"In terms of the quality of ideas in the last few years concepts have
</p><p>become more international, while production-wise, I think Thailand has
</p><p>moved ahead of Singapore and Hong Kong," she said.

</p><p>Two of Burnett's commercials for McDonald's, "Wedding" and "Swimming",
</p><p>also won international awards at the third Asia-Pacific Advertising
</p><p>Festival in Pattaya this year, and at the Cannes advertising festival in
</p><p>France.

</p><p>Of the 1,177 entries this year, there were 253 finalists vying for TACT
</p><p>awards.
</p><p><BR><BR>
</p><p>All told, there were 54 awards for TVCs, 17 for print ads, six for
</p><p>posters and outdoor advertising, three for direct advertising, five for
</p><p>radio spots, two for jingles and one for an instrumental score.

</p><p>Ogilvy & Mather won four gold print advertisement awards for Pure water
</p><p>filters, Epson, Fisherman's Friend and Duracell batteries, and six
</p><p>prizes overall.

</p><p>Results Advertising picked up two gold print advertisement awards for
</p><p>UHT low fat milk and Toshiba air-conditioners and four prizes in
</p><p>total.

</p><p>SC Matchbox, J. Walter Thompson, BBDO, TBWA Next and Tripplet, and
</p><p>Creative Juice, each won three awards apiece.

</p><p>Small advertising company Frame Line snatched a gold award for its
</p><p>humorous Mistine Force roll-on deodorant TVCs featuring a turtle.

</p><p>The prestigious Chaweewan Award was presented to Siam Studio's chairman
</p><p>Ctar Sudasna Na Ayudhya, who was honoured for his role as a pioneer and
</p><p>significant contributor to the local advertising industry.
