Marketers are bringing out the big guns in 2000 in a bid to stand

out from the clutter - to celebrate the Tet Chinese New Year and the

Year of the Dragon, Tiger Beer and Leo Burnett Vietnam constructed a

50-metre long outdoor supersite in Ho Chi Minh City.

The site features a dragon which spews a six-metre flame every five

minutes into the night sky, and a traditional cao doi (rhyming couplets)

tells of the epic confrontation between a tiger and a dragon.

Tiger Beer brand manager Joseph Loy explained that the company wanted to

make "a real impact in the year of the dragon".

"We wanted a showpiece in the centre of Ho Chi Minh City," he said.
