Burnett lands Thai government energy brief

BANGKOK - Leo Burnett has pipped Ogilvy and Dentsu for a national energy conservation campaign, worth US$1.4m, which launches in tandem with the King of Thailand's 80th birthday.

The brief is to commemorate the King’s birthday by showing his dedication towards conserving Thailand’s environment. The campaign involves a year’s worth of integrated advertising, PR and the production of a documentary.

Starcom will assist with media duties. The King’s energy conservation project is one half of a larger conservation campaign sponsored by the monarchy. Last month Ogilvy picked up the US$1.5 brief for the promotion of gasohol, a lower emissions fuel (Media, 18 April).
