Burnett creates new job as SK-11 expands activity

Leo Burnett has appointed Foo Woon Chen to the newly-created position of regional account director, Southeast Asia, for SK-II. Foo will be responsible for Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore, and will report to both Burnett Singapore managing director John O'Shea and Asia-Pacific account director Lucy Wong.

According to O'Shea, the increasing amount of SK-II activity, spurred by growth of Burnett's business with the brand in Thailand and Australia, made the hire necessary. "Foo's brief is to build business in this part of the world. As the already existing Australian and Thai brief now falls under Burnett Singapore's regional portfolio, Foo appointment will add greater strength to the Singapore offering," he said.

Foo relocates from Paris, where she was marketing communications manager at Hashbee. Prior to that, she worked for McCann Erickson, handling L'Oreal and Maybelline. "To be presented with the opportunity to work on one of the world's most sort after skincare brands was an opportunity not to be missed," said Foo.

"As a relatively new beauty care brand, SK-II has already attracted the attention of the world with its unique product range based on a natural derivative, Pitera."
