Burnett cleans up in Malaysia
<p>Leo Burnett Malaysia swept this year's Kancil Awards with a tally </p><p>of 40 trophies and the Golden Kancil itself, for a patriotic TV campaign </p><p>called "Merdeka 2000". </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The news came as small surprise in an evening during which a paltry four </p><p>golds were awarded - one to Burnett, one to FCB and two to Grey. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>A grand total of 208 golds, silvers, bronzes and special merit awards </p><p>were presented. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The Burnett Golden Kancil winner, for client Petronas, underlined the </p><p>diversity in race and culture in the country, with the message being </p><p>that it doesn't matter if you're Malay, Indian, Chinese or one of the </p><p>other minority races - they all call Malaysia home. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>The Kancil Awards followed a two-day creative seminar attended by nearly </p><p>500 delegates. </p><p><BR><BR> </p><p>(See also pages 6 and 36; further coverage of the Kancils in next issue </p><p>of MEDIA.) </p><p><BR><BR> </p>
